Week 4: Production time
Production has finally started with our first sprint. This week, we started working through all of our tasks.
Walls opening-up
The side walls now open up at random intervals, which allows players to bump each other off the map for additional score (score system will be made soon!).
Player spawning & assigning their outline
The outline Bart made is now assigned whenever a player spawns! The specific values will be tweaked in the next production week.
Modelling and concepting
We artists started right away with our tasks, so first we waited a bit until Zuzanna made some concepts such as the cars and walls, and then we started building these up.
Here is some progress on the car from Bart:
Ingame preview of the Car and the Outline post processing Material:
Made the the Outline adjustable in thickness and color, and created a slight gradient on the outside
As for Tika, she did a couple of things, such as modeling the arena. Here are a couple of parts of it. Then I started figuring out what we needed to do with our power-ups' 3D models, making sure they have textures and our system is set up.
Also some concepting for the pixel power-ups and the resulting model
Lastly, she started implementing these assets in the game and making sure they have the right collisions:
Next week we will move forward with the work list we set up for ourselves
